Minister of Agriculture and the Environment Tiilikainen attends OECD Meeting of Agriculture Ministers in Paris on 7–8 April 2016

The Meeting of Agriculture Ministers organised by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD will be held in Paris on 7–8 April. The meeting will bring together 55 delegations form the OECD member and partner countries and other international organisations key to food production. The Finnish delegation will be led by Minister of Agriculture and the Environment Kimmo Tiilikainen.

The meeting will focus on the medium and long-term challenges of global food production. The meeting will also discuss new policy approaches to safeguard a productive and sustainable global food system. The meeting aims at providing guidelines for the work to be carried out in the OECD Committee for Agriculture over the next 5–6 years.

The meeting will be chaired by the US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and the French Minister of Agriculture Stéphane Le Foll. Minister Tiilikainen will chair a group with a mandate of establishing concrete measures to achieve policy changes.

The previous meeting of the OECD Committee for Agriculture took place in 2010.
