Minister Leppä to visit Estonia

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Jari Leppä will visit Estonia on 12 July 2017. During the visit, Minister Leppä will meet his colleague, Estonia’s Minister of Rural Affairs Tarmo Tamm.

The Ministers will discuss matters relating to Estonia’s EU Presidency, the future of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and the legislative proposal to integrate greenhouse gas emissions and removals from land use, land use-change and forestry (LULUCF). In connection with the visit, Minister Leppä will meet leaders from the Center of Food and Fermentation Technologies (CFFT) They will discuss topical questions related to the current situation in agricultural policy. 

Estonia assumed its six-month EU Presidency on Saturday 1 July 2017. The Presidency will focus on four key themes: an open and innovative European economy, a safe and secure Europe, a digital Europe and the free movement of data, and an inclusive and sustainable Europe. Minister Leppä will return to Finland on Wednesday evening.
