Some of the projects, working groups and programmes currently underway in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry are outlined in these pages. Most of the preparation for the projects is carried out in Finnish, so the majority of the additional information is also in Finnish.

Recycle nutrients for clear waters
Finland is committed to become a model country in nutrient recycling. The efficient recycling of agricultural nutrients will improve the health of the water systems, reinforce food security and create new business opportunities.
Local food – but of course!
Local food is one of the priorities of Finnish food policy. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has prepared a Local Food Programme in collaboration with different stakeholders.
Some invasive alien species have become established in Finland, causing economic, environmental, social and health-related impacts.
