Deer game plan

Moose management plans describe and justify the necessary population management measures, taking into account economic, social and cultural requirements as well as regional and local characteristics.

The management plan for wild forest reindeer identifies four regional population management areas south of the reindeer herding area. Each area faces different challenges due to, for example, the varying densities of large carnivore populations. The main objectives of the management plan include keeping the Finnish wild forest reindeer population viable and genetically pure.
