Cadastral system

The cadastral register and the land register (title and mortgage register) are maintained through cadastral surveys and property registration decisions. These registers are fundamental societal records covering all landownership units (real estate) in Finland, and together they safeguard ownership as well as the national credit and financing system, as affordable lending requires reliable collateral.
