Organisation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
The political staff of the Ministry works in close cooperation with the civil servants with the aim to ensure that the actions and decisions of the Ministry make the best possible contribution to reaching the objectives set for them and to the welfare of the citizens.
Ms Sari Essayah has been the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland since June 2023. In her office she is assisted by State Secretary and Special Advisers.
The Ministry is composed of the Natural Resources Department, the Agriculture and Fisheries industry Department and the Food and Research Department. EU Coordination and International Affairs Unit, Human Resources, Information and Administration unit, Steering, Finance and Planning unit, Legal Affairs unit and Communications Unit are under the direct leadership of the Permanent Secretary.
