Water and fish

Freshwater is a valuable natural resource for Finland. It is vital to ensure that the status of Finnish waters is good and our fish populations thrive. Algae may also prove valuable, being a more efficient raw material for biofuel than, for example, soybeans or corn. Bioeconomy also covers recreational fishing, hydro and wind power, water services, nature tourism and waterborne transport.
