Description

The project studies if the current forest legislation and forest management guidelines guide to
climate-smart forestry. The current forest legislation does not contain any minimum thresholds for
the stand age or mean diameter at the time of final felling example. We study if this lack of
minimum criteria has led to regeration cuttings in young, well growing forests. We also study if
the thinning regimes in the current forest management guidelines are guiding to climate-smart
management of forests.
