Risto Lahti appointed as Special Adviser to Minister Tiilikainen

Risto Lahti has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture and the Environment Kimmo Tiilikainen, placed at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Lahti will start his work at the ministry on 27 September 2016.

Mr Lahti is a 25-year-old student of food economics at the University of Helsinki. At the ministry he will be concerned with tasks relating to food and foodstuffs. Lahti comes from Ilmajoki in South Ostrobothnia, where he has been a member of the local council since 2009. Currently he is the vice-chair of the local executive. He has been the vice-chair of the Union of Upper Secondary School Students and the Finnish Conscripts’​ Union, as well as worked at various tasks in the manufacturing, trade and primary production of food.

Jukka Pekka Kataja continues as the Special Adviser to Minister Tiilikainen responsible for tasks relating to renewable natural resources. The Special Advisers to Minister Tiilikainen at the Ministry of the Environment are Jyrki Peisa for environmental issues and Tea Usvasuo for housing and building.
