Finland will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in autumn 2019. At the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, this means that Finland will chair the meetings of the working parties of the Council of the EU and that guests from EU Member States will come to Finland to learn more about our country and its forestry sector.

At our meetings in the autumn, we will discuss a variety of themes including the Legally Binding Agreement on Forests in Europe and the reform of the EU Forest Strategy. The reform of the Common Agricultural Policy will also be an important topic of discussion in the forestry sector.
